Pixar

Proof that memorable characters don't need to be alive.
Everyone knows the Pixar lamp for its short intro to animated cartoons such as Toy Story and Monsters Inc. What i like about the lamp is that even though it is, in reality, an inanimate object, it has been brought to vibrant life. By the way it moves, interacts and hops, we see a face where there is just a bulb. We see a head where there is a shade. We see a body and feet where there is just a stand. I admire how the animators have thrown this illusion over the audience, tricking them into believing it is a living creature.

It is clear they have thought about the target audience too. This sequence is shown during the intro credits to children's cartoon films. The night light is something they would likely see around their own bedroom, which brings more excitement to this character.
I am looking forward to creating some character concepts of my own and seeing how i can bring them to life on screen.
