Stop Motion

I did a stop motion tutorial the other day. It was only 45 minutes, but it was such a laugh!
Stop animation is where an object is photographed, then moved slightly, photographed again and so on. When the images are put together, this creates the illusion of moving image.
Some well known stop animation projects include Wallace and Gromit, The Nightmare before Christmas and Creature Comforts.

Wallace and Gromit

I was in a small group and was given a selection of children's toys and a small photo shoot section to arrange them. There is no narrative or sound here, as it was just a chance to use the stop motion workshop to see how i could use this technique effectively.
I really enjoyed it! This sequence only took about 15-20 minutes to create, so it is fairly quick. Bearing in mind, i just used toys; If i was to use this technique in my animation, i would need to create my own characters and scene.

I apologise that the video is black and white, and also grainy, it wasn't like that when we did it! This is down to the software i used and the file types available. But as i said, it was just a tutorial to get used to using this technique!
