Quentin Tarantino

Absolutely amazing director!
Here are the opening credits to some of his films:

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Such a simple concept! Tarantino uses a very similar style in his opening credits. He likes to use text with various fonts and transitions, but no image, played to a song.

Reservoir Dogs (1992)
(Blogger wouldn't find the video >:( so heres the link!)

This one starts a little different, as he does use image. But i love the way the frame rate is lowered to create that jittery effect. This is what happens when our brain sees image lower than 10 frames per second.

Kill Bill Vol 1 (2003)

Another simple text based style opening sequence. Notice he uses music which relates to what the audience have just seen in terms of tempo and mood.

The songs he uses are known for their use in his films now. This shows how an effective on screen visual can keep a song in your head, something i'll have to bear in mind in my animation!

I could go on through all his opening sequences, as they all follow a very similar style and are all amazing! More include Inglorious Basterds (2009), Kill Bill Vol 2 (2004) and Jackie Brown (1997). All AWESOME films! If you haven't seen them already, GO BUY THEM!
